A well-established food manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a busy production facility in Medina, Ohio.
This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving equipment reliability, and creating maintenance systems that support consistent production.
You’ll oversee the full maintenance function—including equipment, facilities, utilities, and technicians—while driving improvements in uptime, safety, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership
• Lead and develop the plant maintenance team including supervisors, technicians, planners, and parts management.
• Direct daily maintenance operations across equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and development of maintenance personnel across shifts.
Equipment Reliability
• Reduce equipment downtime and improve overall plant performance.
• Strengthen preventive maintenance programs to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and support rapid response to equipment issues.
• Monitor repair and response times and coach mechanics to improve troubleshooting capabilities.
Maintenance Systems
• Manage the maintenance department budget and track departmental spending.
• Utilize a CMMS system to manage work orders, labor utilization, and asset history.
• Improve spare parts inventory and organization.
• Develop rebuild and replacement plans for critical equipment ahead of peak production periods.
Continuous Improvement
• Use root cause analysis to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Track maintenance performance metrics and use data to drive improvements.
• Support plant initiatives focused on efficiency, productivity, and reliability.
Safety & Compliance
• Lead maintenance safety initiatives including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, and fall protection.
• Ensure maintenance operations meet GMP, OSHA, and environmental standards.
Capital & Facility Projects
• Support equipment upgrades, plant improvements, and capital projects.
• Assist in planning and executing maintenance-related capital investments.
Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience leading maintenance operations in food manufacturing or a high-speed production environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience leading and developing maintenance teams
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and CMMS platforms
• Familiarity with GMP, OSHA, and food manufacturing regulations
• Experience using root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve equipment issues
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
