Position Overview:

Brock11 is currently searching for a Sales Representative to cover the Seattle Washington area. Our client is a global manufacturer of building materials and a leader in the industry. This position offers a base pay as well as an uncapped commission plan. Commissions are paid out monthly.


The Sales Representative is responsible for the sales activity as well as relationship building and follow-up for their assigned territory. This position is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities with existing clients as well as prospects. This position will be required to develop diversified market strategies aligned to meet/exceed specific sales and leading indicator goals for their respective territory as well as develop an automated business development plan in the company CRM and related systems and execute accordingly.


The Sales Representative will be responsible for maintaining and implementing key customer plans, including annual territory plans and weekly game plans. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of the competitive landscape and how to navigate it to produce results. This position will also be responsible for meeting / exceeding the expected sales volume established by the annual budget. The Sales Representative is responsible for communication with the field technical advisors as well as the technical department relative to product or system issues and/or the development of products or systems to meet the industry needs. He or she is also responsible for activities within the assigned territory such as site visits, client support, administration of established training programs in cooperation with the technical department.


Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships in addition to formally educating and motivating our customers to include but not limited to, contractors, building owners, specifiers, and distributors.
  • Fluent with company CRM.
  • Connect with community influencers.
  • Creatively market yourself and the company.
  • Must have an understanding and knowledge of the company goals and growth objectives.
  • Monitor and review sales results against budget.
  • Work within organizational strategies, structures, and processes in flexible and practical ways.
  • Arrange information and work processes in a useful and logical manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry and market trends. Accurately anticipate future consequences and trends with a broad knowledge and perspective.
  • Maintain a professional presence in industry and community related activities and events. Promote the company message and create confidence in the company solutions.
  • Communicate and liaise with all corporate office departments providing a transfer of market information, market requirements and technical concerns.
  • Willingness to be accountable and measured on performance.
  • Can deal with conflict, ambiguity and information in an appropriate and positive manner.
  • May require additional functions as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Must be motivated to hit sales goals.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge with a minimum of 5 years selling experience in the building materials industry; preferably with a manufacturer, independent sales representative, or distributor.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and distribution methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team building skills.
  • Executive level presentation, selling and negotiating skills, online and customer facing.
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills.
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptive.
  • Ability to work outside of the box (flexibility) Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via telephone, in person and in writing.
  • This position will require regular travel within the region and in the United States.
  • Some after-hours meetings and weekend activities as required to accomplish duties can be expected.
  • Daily work schedule can vary depending on circumstances. Reports to the Sales Manager of the respective district or region.


Compensation: Base pay of $70,000-$90,000 based on experience with an uncapped commission plan.
