Brock11 has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Automation System (BAS) Specialist II. About the Role
In this position, you’ll be pivotal in the design, deployment, and maintenance of cutting-edge building automation systems. You’ll enhance energy efficiency, comfort, and operational performance—all while working collaboratively in a culture of innovation, safety, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Sequence Testing - Inspect systems for compliance with specifications;
- perform point-to-point testing; verify correct installation and functionality.
- Diagnostics & Testing - Analyze system performance; use specialized testing tools; ensure sensors are correctly placed and operating.
- Project Graphics - Develop wiring diagrams, system dashboards, and visual maps; present designs and modifications to stakeholders for feedback.
- Repairs & Service -Diagnose HVAC or system issues; perform maintenance tasks like cleaning and tightening; provide repair recommendations for efficiency improvements.
- System Adjustments - Optimize system controls and settings to meet performance standards
- Documentation - Record time, materials, faults, and other occurrences; complete work orders, training forms, and punch lists; produce field sketches as needed.
- Training & Mentorship - Train personnel on tools and systems; mentor team members and suggest improvements to processes and quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Deep understanding of BAS integration platforms, especially BACnet.
- Strong HVAC systems knowledge, control theory, and energy management strategies.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting detailed specifications.
- Superior analytical, troubleshooting, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal; thrives in independent and team environments.
- Multi-tasker with strong process and safety compliance.
- Familiarity with fire, life-safety codes, and ability to research/apply them.
- EHS-focused mindset, commitment to safe work practices.
- Ready for flexible shifts, on-call duties, and emergency response situations.
- Comfortable using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Experience & Certifications
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and installing building control systems.
- Proficient with computer networks and internet protocols; Microsoft Office familiarity preferred.
- Required: Tridium Niagara 4 Certification.
- Preferred: Distech 6001 Certification (a plus, not required).
