Building Automation Specialist

Brock11 is proud to partner with an innovative and well-established Design Build firm to find an experienced Building Automation System (BAS) Specialist II.

As a BAS Specialist II, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation systems to enhance building performance, comfort, and energy efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with technical expertise and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in a collaborative team environment. This position offers a base pay range of 90K-120K plus bonus opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:


Sequence Testing

  • Inspect and test systems to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Perform point-to-point verification and system diagnostics
  • Review project documents to understand scope and ensure component functionality
  • Set up and operate specialized testing equipment


Project Graphics

  • Create system dashboard images and wiring diagrams
  • Develop and present designs to internal teams or clients for approval


Repairs & Service

  • Troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions and recommend preventive maintenance
  • Perform general service tasks (e.g., cleaning, tightening terminals)
  • Advise on repair solutions and equipment design improvements


Adjustments

  • Calibrate system controls for optimal performance
  • Modify control settings in accordance with company and project standards


Documentation

  • Record and report faults, time, and material usage
  • Complete customer service documentation, training forms, and field change sketches


Training & Mentorship

  • Instruct and mentor team members on tools, systems, and best practices
  • Provide ideas for improving efficiency, quality, and innovation


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of BAS systems, HVAC controls, and energy management strategies
  • Familiar with integration platforms (e.g., BACnet)
  • Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Working knowledge of safety codes and environmental/health standards
  • Comfortable working shifts and being on-call for emergencies
  • Must be willing to wear PPE and work in active job site environments


Education & Certifications:

  • 5–10 years of experience in BAS design, implementation, and controls installation
  • Proficiency in computer networking and Microsoft Office
  • Tridium Niagara 4 Certification (required)
  • Distech 6001 Certification (preferred but not required)
